How the GlowUp Bike
Get your bikes out and challenge yourself to ride for a cause. Hook your bikes up with funky lights and each year in September we challenge you to ride to help us fight childhood trauma!
To Glow up is Simple...
Set your pace...From September 1st through October 30th, challenge yourself to meet or beat your own personal goal. Whatever you set your total mile goal to is what you ride. Log your miles on your glow up challenge log form. Simply track your miles, daily, weekly, and at the end total them up for your grand total of both months and register your miles on your personal glow up page! IT'S THAT SIMPLE!
Any and all ages are welcome. No matter your fitness level or where you live, you too can "Glow UP" for Trauma!
Your goal is what you make it. If you are challenging yourself to ride for 20miles, 30miles, or 1,000miles it is totally up to you, just make sure you keep the bottom line mission in mine, the more miles the more money!
What you need to do once your bike is glowing: Download the BikeRideTracker, use your personal GPS device or app or you can manually log it on your personal registration page.
Here's how to get Glow'ed UP:
1. REGISTER AND SET YOUR TARGET
Register now for FREE and set yourself a target of miles to ride for the month of September through October as your personal cycle glow challenge to raise money for a child who has suffered from Trauma.
The sky is the limited! Make your target as low as 20 miles, 150 miles, or even 1,000 miles, the main thing is to challenge yourself, having fun while getting Glowed UP, and reach for your personal activity goals.
2. SHARE! SHARE! SHARE!
Spread the word to your friends and family and tell everyone about your challenge to raise money for childhood trauma!
Ask them to support you by making a donation through your challenge page and fundraise to support childhood trauma and help support little life.
3. START YOUR CHALLENGE
Start your challenge on September 1st with thousands of riders across the country. You can ride to work during the week, go for longer rides on the weekend or take on your own personal cycling challenge for a week or a month - it's up to you!
Note: You don't have to ride for the entire month (i.e. you might be away on vacation for a week). Just set yourself a realistic goal and ride to achieve it within the month of September.

4. RECORD YOUR RIDES
Record your rides and log your miles throughout September and October for every ride you complete for the challenge. You can log your miles in the following ways:
Connect to Strava or MapMyRide
If you already use Strava or MapMyFitness (which includes MapMyRide and MapMyRun) then you can simply connect your account to take part in the challenge.
Strava: To sync your Strava profile, visit the Ride Activity page of your Great Cycle Challenge USA dashboard and press the orange 'Strava Connect' button.
MapMyFitness/Ride/Run: MapMyFitness/Ride/Run integration is also available and can be located on the Ride Activity page of your dashboard.
Your own GPS device
Already use a GPS enabled device like a Garmin to track your rides? No problem. You can upload your ride file to your Great Cycle Challenge USA account and have your rides (and miles) added to your rider profile page.
If you don't want to upload a file, then you can easily add your miles manually.
If you are using a standard odometer you can add your miles manually into your Glow UP profile page.
5. TRACK YOUR PROGRESS
Once registered, you will receive your own challenge page from which you can track your progress throughout the challenge! Your page will display each of your rides, the total miles you've ridden, to track your miles easily.
